Easy dinner ideas & recipes for kids are those ideas that we can cook for our kids very easily within a short time. We do not need to spend more time cooking their dinner and it is not necessary to give more time to cook delicious and healthy food. 

To save our time we just need to choose easy recipes which will help us to cook tasty dinner for our kids very fast. That is why I am sharing some ideas to serve your kids’ healthy dinner.

In the materialistic world of the east and west, it is impossible to spend the whole time of a day in our kitchen. Nowadays we parents are busy with our professionalism. 

Generally, we adults can easily take any type of food if it easy to make or get even it is not tasty. But, there is a different picture for kids. They won’t take food or won’t love to take their food if it is not tasty. 

So, being a parent we have to follow only those recipes which are easy to cook and tasty to eat. The key to dinner recipes for kids is to prepare tasty foods for them. These ideas can help us to know how we can provide tasty and healthy food to our baby.

We should not forget the main purpose of foods when we are following ideas to prepare our kids’ dinner. Before following the ideas we must make assure that the recipes we can provide them enough carbohydrates, protein, minerals, vitamins, water as per their age requirement. 

So we must keep rice/ wheat products, vegetables, fish, egg, meat, in the dinner menu. We also need to arrange enough liquid like juice which fulfills the need for fluid. We can feed our kids healthy foods by following the strategy.

1. Baked Ziti

It is a challenge for us to make our kids happy with their food, especially at dinner. We already know, we need to give them healthy food which is delicious at the same time. 

Here, I am sharing a few ideas with you which may help you to serve your kids a healthy and nutritious dinner using easy recipes.

We can try baked ziti for our kids at dinner. Ziti is tube-shaped pasta. Children are usually fond of pasta. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Firstly we need to heat the oven to 350 F. Then add butter (9/13/2 inch) in a baking pan.
  2. Then we need to cook the ziti in boiling salted water and drain well.
  3. Mix the ricotta cheese, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and half of the grated mozzarella cheese into it. Adding the egg blend it well.
  4. Need the drained ziti and keep to the baking dish. Now pour the spaghetti sauce overall.
  5. Now, bake the mixed item over for 45 minutes. Add the rest of the mozzarella cheese and the parmesan cheese and then bake for 5 minutes more.
  6. Now you can serve ziti casserole with a fresh tossed salad and hot baked or grilled garlic bread.

2. Spring Stir-Fried Chicken with Sugar Snap Peas and Carrots

The second recipe is prepared with chicken, sugar snap peas, and carrots. You will need only 30 minutes to prepare this recipe.

Sauce Ingredients

Fry Ingredients

  • Sliced Skinless, boneless Chicken Breast
  • Canola or Coconut Oil– 1 Table Spoon
  • Minced Garlic-2 Table Spoon
  • Grated Ginger-1 Table Spoon
  • Sugar Snap Peas- 1Cup
  • Diagonally Sliced Carrot-1 Cup
  • Scallions

For the preparation of sauce, we need to mix soya sauce, lime juice water, and cornstarch in a small bowl.

Preparation

  1. Now we have to season chicken lightly with salt then we need to heat a large wok.
  2. Need to add half of the oil when the wok is very hot and then we will add the chicken. After that, need to stir fry until the chicken color is brown.
  3. After stirring the chicken we will remove the chicken and let the heat be reduced.
  4. Now, we need to add the remaining oil to the wok. Stir garlic, ginger for 20 seconds. After stirring these ingredients we will add sugar snap peas and carrots and stir those for about 3-4 minutes. We need to stir over medium heat and these will be crispy.
  5. We will mix the chicken into the wok. Now adding soya sauce lime mixture needs to cook 30 seconds more.
  6. Our dish is ready to serve.

3. Steamed Chicken Dumplings

The recipes are a steamed chicken recipe and easy to cook. It provides your kids’ required nutrition.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Mince-200 gm.
  • Water Chestnuts, drained, rinsed, and diced -100 gm.
  • Spring onions finely sliced-2
  • Finely Chopped Garlic Clove-1
  • Finely Chopped Fresh Ginger-1 tsp.
  • Soya Sauce-1 tsp.
  • Rice Wine Vinegar-1 tsp.
  • Lime Juice-1 tsp.
  • Finely chopped Coriander Leaves-2 tbsp.
  • Fresh Flour Wonton Wrappers-20
  • Lemon Soy Dipping Sauce 1tbsp.
  • Lime Juice 1½ tbsp.
  • Lemon Juice- 1 ½ tbsp.
  • Soy Sauce 1 tbsp.

Preparation 

1 We need to mix all ingredients except wonton wrappers in a large bowl. Need to lay wrappers on a floured surface and keep a teaspoon of the mixed ingredients in the middle.

  1. Now bring two corners together and then the other two corners. To make sure that there is no extra air need to seal tightly.
  2. Bring a medium-sized saucepan with water and boil on high heat.
  3. Add the dumplings lining in a bamboo steamer with baking paper. Now steam about 10 minutes. The chicken will be cooked.
  4. Now you can repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.

4. Prawn Toasts

The next recipe is Prawn toast as an example of how you can provide them healthy recipes.

Ingredients

  • White Bread-10 Slices
  • Green Prawn-500 gm.
  • Sliced Green Onion-2
  • Grated Ginger-1 Tbsp.
  • Egg White -1
  • Cornflour-1 tsp.
  • Soy Sauce-1 tsp.
  • White pepper-1/1 tsp.
  • Sesame Seeds-1/2 Cup
  • Peanut Oil.

Preparation

  1. Need to prepare first the prawn with green onions, ginger, egg white, cornflour, and soy sauce. Cook the mixture until it is smooth.
  2. Cut the slices of bread into 4 triangles.
  3. Keep 1 tbsp. of the mixture into one slice and keep the other side over this.
  4. Coat the slice with sesame seeds.
  5. Heat the oil and fry the slices until these are brown
  6. Drain these on a paper towel.

5. Grilled Lemon Chicken Recipe

Here is another recipe for your kids with chicken. Your kids will just love it.

Ingredients:

  • Lemon Juice- 1/3 cup
  • Olive Oil-1/4 Cup
  • Dijon Mustard-1 Tbsp.
  • Red bel pepper finely chopped-2 tbsp.
  • Finely chopped 2 large clove garlic
  • Salt -1/2 tsp.
  • Ground Black pepper-1/2 tbsp.
  • Boneless and skinless chicken breast 4 halves.

Preparation:

  1. We need to mix lemon juice, olive oil, Dijon mustard, red bel pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. We will keep ¼ cup of the mixture aside.
  3. Then we will mix the chicken in the bowl and keep it for 20 minutes to be marinated.
  4. Need to oil lightly the grill gate
  5. We will place the chicken on the grill and cook it for 6 minutes.

6. Chicken Macaroni Soup

Another delicious and easy recipe for your kids is Chicken Macaroni Soup.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken Breast-80 gm.
  • Sliced Baby Corn-80 gm.
  • Sliced Carrot-30 gm.
  • Leafy Vegetables-80 gm.
  • Sliced Fishcake- 50 gm.
  • Dry macaroni-160 gm.
  • Stock-1 L.

Preparation:

  1. Shred chicken breast.
  2. Now we will cook macaroni following the instruction of the packet.
  3. Need to add carrot and baby corn into the boiling stock for five minutes.
  4. Then we will add leafy vegetables and boil for 2 minutes more.
  5. Now we need to add fish cake.
  6. Now we will mix the macaroni with the soup and vegetables.

Tips to Provide Your Kids a Healthy Dinner

I have tried to find out some opportunities to give them healthy food with less labor. I have tried this step only to make sure our friends that, we can give proper nutrition to our kids with less physical work if we have good ideas. 

A notable point is that we must make a plan at the beginning of the day for our baby’s dinner. If we have a clear plan of what we want to give them at dinner time it will be easier for us to do the rest. So, in the morning we have to think about what kind of food we are going to our baby at dinner time.

Being a parent we always think about how we can give proper diet to our baby or what they need actually for. We can give our baby whatever we eat, of course, it is with a balanced quantity.

So when we are going to prepare our kids’ food we need to keep in mind what food element and how much of it we are putting. So, we need to know that we are not putting for them excess or less quantity of any food elements to make our work easy.

Conclusion

I like to request all the parents that easy dinner ideas for kids do not mean that, we can give them whatever we can make. It means that how we can give a properly balanced diet to our kids by saving our time and keeping us less busy with our work.

We must have to concentrate on preparing dinner. It is not worthy to give them tasteless food following any idea. No idea can work if the food is not tasty.
